Schiøtz's book provides a complete overview of all the species (and subspecies) of African tree frogs known at present. He has been studying these creatures for more than 40 years, and his studies published in the 1970's are generally considered as true milestones of African herpetology. The splendour of these frogs is illustrated by 265 full-colour illustrations, and aspects of their captive husbandry are discussed in special chapter.
